Yvette Garcia, CPA, is a Principal in MBAF's Audit Department, where she specializes in conducting audits for the firm's financial institutions clients. She is one of the lead auditors in the firm's assurance work for community banks and international banks.
Yvette joined MBAF in 2002 and has been a partner in the firm since July of 2007. During her 14-year accounting career, she has provided services to clients across a range of industries, including financial institutions, manufacturing, telecommunications, aviation, entertainment, retail, distribution and technology.
Experienced in public offerings, capital formation and mergers and acquisitions, Yvette provides first-time through audit engagements, as well as audit and business advisory services to many national and international public and privately held companies. She says that her greatest professional pride comes from meeting clients' deadlines and going beyond what they ask, and helping clients meet the requirements of new banking rules and regulations and accounting industry standards.
Yvette is a native of New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Connecticut State University and a Master in Accounting from Florida International University.
"I have always had a great ability to work with numbers, and I also have a profound interest in the details of how businesses operate," she says. "So, accounting was the natural choice for me."
Yvette is a member of the Audit Committee of the United Way of Miami-Dade and a member of the Technical Issues Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She also is a member of the Baker Tilly North American A&A Committee. She is active in the Junior League of Miami and Women's Leadership Council.
