Non-profit organizations 501(c)(3) care for our communities in more ways than we can mention. MBAF is fully committed to helping them perpetuate their generosity far into the future.
As an important part of the foundation of so many communities, we are dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations by giving them back the time, flexibility, and freedom to focus on their goals.
The success of a non-profit organization hinges on many factors: sufficient funding, generous donations from individuals and businesses, dedicated volunteers and quality paid staff. The ability of your non-profit to grow and continue to serve the needs of the community; however, also depends on the quality of the professional advice that you receive.
MBAF has an entire group dedicated to meeting the unique needs of non-profits, whether an organization has revenues of $250,000, $250 million, or more. That dedication is coupled with a commitment to offering the highest level of service throughout the year – not just at audit time – for all non-profit clients.
Our experts have conducted audits for over 100 non-profits representing a wide range of non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, Single Audit Act and Circular A-133, Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organization, Florida Single Audits, for charitable organizations, churches and religious organizations, cultural and educational institutions, museums, philanthropic organizations, private foundations, service providers, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs, charter schools and other non-profits. In addition, we offer extensive experience working with special education preschool and school-aged programs, affordable housing and agencies funded by Westchester County Department of Social Services, New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and New York State Office for people with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). We provide consolidated fiscal report (CFR) preparation, tuition rate assessments, and tax consulting services and our principal is a nationally recognized authority on New York State Education Department (SED) tuition rate methodology, analysis, and appeals. Many of these 501(c)(3) organizations receive grant funding from local, state and federal agencies. At the end of every audit, we meet with each non-profit's finance committee and board of directors to personally report our 501(c)(3) audit results. We are members of the AICPA Government Quality audit center.
We understand that to best serve you, we must understand you. As a company, MBAF pours over 1,000 hours per year in pro-bono services into the communities in which we work. This time and care benefits our neighborhoods, but also helps us to understand your organization's focus and goals, too.
