Charles "Charlie" E. Groppe, CPA, is a principal in the Audit Department at MBAF-ERE CPAs, LLC (MBAF ERE), a division of Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC. He has been in the accounting profession since 1975.

Charlie conducts audits for a wide range of non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, including many that receive funding from local state and federal agencies. He also provides tax planning and strategic advice to small to medium size businesses and closely held business clients that help them maintain their fiscal health and continued growth. Charlie services the diverse needs of a wide range of entities in the independent sector, including: non-profit and government organizations, pension plans, private foundations and school districts.
 
He has extensive experience working with special education preschool and school-aged programs, affordable housing and agencies funded by Westchester County Department of Social Services, New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and New York State Office for people with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

Charlie provides consolidated fiscal report (CFR) preparation, tuition rate assessments, and tax consulting services. A nationally recognized authority on New York State Education Department (SED) tuition rate methodology, analysis, and appeals, he develops and is a key presenter at the firm's annual full-day SED Funding Workshop, which helps SED school providers understand these issues.
