MBAF Partner Frank Gonzalez Honored with 2005 Excellence in Accounting Award
The South Florida Business Journal has announced its 2005 Excellence in Accounting Award winners and MBAF Partner Frank Gonzalez, CPA, was selected for his exceptional work in the area of Financial Institutions. The awards, which are given by the regional business publication to acknowledge distinction in the field of accounting, annually recognize individual South Florida accountants who have excelled in their respective practice segments.
Mr. Gonzalez, a partner with the Assurance Services Department and the head of the financial institutions practice, is a veteran of both domestic and international banking organizations, and an experienced CPA. He is knowledgeable in the rigorous regulatory and compliance standards that apply to the financial services industry, and the South Florida Business Journal award serves to highlight the depth of his knowledge and skills.
Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Gonzalez has provided extensive services to South Florida organizations in a wide range of industries, with a focus on community banking, international banking, and investment funds. He has worked hand-in-hand with clients to accomplish financial and operational objectives through initial and secondary public offerings, capital formation, and mergers and acquisitions. He is skilled in first-time through audit engagements and in providing audit and business advisory services to many national and international public (SEC) and privately held companies.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as a past-president of the Cuban-American Certified Public Accountants Association, Mr. Gonzalez is both a professional and civic leader. He is actively involved with the efforts of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, the Florida International University School of Accounting Advisory Board, and the United Way Impact Council. A graduate of Florida International University with a bachelor of science in accounting, Mr. Gonzalez received his masters of business administration from the University of Miami.
In addition to Mr. Gonzalez, Marta Anido, CPA, and Raul Incera, CPA, both partners at MBAF and members of the Financial Services team, were recognized as Finalists for the 2005 Excellence in Accounting Award by the South Florida Business Journal.
