MIAMI – October 3, 2007 – Yvette Garcia, partner of Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra LLP (MBAF), the largest Florida-based independent public accounting firm in the State, has been appointed to the Technical Issues Committee of the AICPA’s Private Companies Practice Section. The committee represents the views of local and regional CPA firms with private company clients as they set accounting and auditing standards in the technical accounting field. Garcia will serve a term of three years in this position.

Garcia received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Connecticut State University and a Master of Accounting from Florida International University. She is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida International Bankers Association and the South Florida Banking Institute. She is also committed to community outreach and serves as volunteer to the Junior League of Miami and the United Way.
