MIAMI, FL - June 26, 2003 - Tony Argiz, CPA, managing partner of Miami-based accounting and management consulting firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Company LLP, was honored with the Neal J. Menachem Memorial Award by the Miami-Dade/Broward County State of Israel Bonds at the 17th Annual CPA-Attorney Dinner held June 17 at the Miami Biscayne Bay Hotel. The Neal J. Menachem Memorial Award is presented to those professionals who support the state of Israel and demonstrate a commitment to community service and their respective professions.
"I am sincerely humbled to be recognized by such a remarkable organization," said Argiz. "Community service has always been very important to me, and I am happy to be honored for doing what brings me joy."
With nearly 25 years of experience in the field of public accounting, Argiz is recognized as an expert in forensic accounting, valuations and automotive consulting. Since 1997, he has lead MBA, which today is one of the nation's top 100 public accounting firms and ranked on the "Best of the Best" list of 25 CPA firms in the United States by Bowman's Accounting Report. Argiz previously served on the governing body of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was the first Cuban-American appointed by the governor to chair Florida's Board of Accountancy.
In addition to his many professional achievements, Argiz is dedicated to the community. He serves as United Way of Miami-Dade fund campaign co-chair, treasurer of the Orange Bowl Committee, and chair of the Miami Dade Junior College Foundation. He also has served on Florida's Constitutional Revision Commission and was chairman of the Florida International University Council of 100.
A Certified Public Accountant in Florida, New York, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Texas, Argiz earned his bachelor of business administration degree from Florida International University. He is a certified fraud examiner and certified valuation analyst, and he earned the accredited in business valuations designation from the AICPA.
