Antonio L. Argiz receives Leadership of the Year Award from the South Florida Banking Institute

MIAMI - January 31, 2005 - Antonio L. Argiz, CPA, ABV, CFE, CVA, ASA, managing partner of Miami-based accounting and management consulting firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLP, was honored with the Leadership of the Year Award by the South Florida Banking Institute at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, January 19, 2005.

With more than 27 years of experience in the field of public accounting, Argiz is recognized as an expert in forensic accounting, valuations, auditing and automotive consulting. Since 1997, he has led Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, one of America's 100 largest public accounting firms and an eight-time honoree on Inside Public Accounting's "Best of the Best" list, which recognizes the nation's top 25 performing independent CPA firms.

Argiz previously served on the governing body of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was the first Cuban-American appointed by the governor to chairFlorida's Board of Accountancy. He also has served on Florida's Constitutional Revision Commission.

In addition to his many professional achievements, Argiz has shown dedication to the South Florida community through active service. He has chaired the Archbishop's Charity and Development Drive, chaired the United-Way of Miami-Dade County campaign, and was president of the Miami Dade College Foundation. Argiz is a member of the Orange Bowl Committee, as well as its treasurer.

A Certified Public Accountant in Florida, New York, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Texas, Argiz earned his bachelor of business administration degree from Florida International University. He is a certified fraud examiner, certified valuation analyst, accredited senior appraiser, and he earned the accredited in business valuations designation from the AICPA.
