J. Courtney O'Steen, CPA, Appointed to Chair the Women's Council of Commerce of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce

MIAMI - March 1, 2005 - J. Courtney O'Steen, CPA, an audit manager in the Fort Lauderdale office of Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLP, is the newly appointed chair of the Steering Committee of the Women's Council of Commerce. A part of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, the Women's Council of Commerce provides economic, networking and leadership opportunities for women who are professionals, business owners, entrepreneurs and executives.

"Our goal is to be the business voice of and resource for Broward's business women," explains O'Steen. "It is gratifying to be part of an organization that promotes the professional and economic success of women. During my one-year term as committee chair, my goal is to increase the visibility of the Women's Council and make more professional women aware of the organization's valuable services and resources."

As a manager in the Assurance Department at Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, O'Steen leads a team of accountants and auditors in providing services to clients in a wide range of industries, including health care, retail, wholesale, manufacturing and construction enterprises. Her professional experience includes serving as an accounting manager with a publicly-traded broadband company and as a senior auditor with a Big Four accounting firm.

O'Steen earned a bachelor's of science degree from Florida State University with a dual-major in accounting and finance. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to her leadership role with the Women's Council of Commerce, O'Steen has volunteered with Junior Achievement's Success Skills program for high school students.
