Miguel G. Farra, CPA, JD, Joins the University of Miami President's Council

MIAMI - April 4, 2005 - Miguel G. Farra, CPA, JD, a partner with Miami-based accounting and consulting firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLP, was selected by presidential invitation to join the University of Miami President's Council, an advisory group consisting of some of the most prominent university alumni.

As a member of the President's Council, Farra will serve as a university ambassador in its relationships with important external audiences. He will also provide assistance and expertise of importance to the University of Miami, as called upon by President Donna Shalala and the Board of Trustees.

"It is an honor to be asked to serve my alma mater in this capacity, and I look forward to working with this dedicated group of individuals as we promote the University of Miami's educational and community initiatives," says Farra.

Farra leads the Tax Department at Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, where he oversees a team of more than 30 tax professionals. A certified public accountant and an attorney, he has nearly three decades of experience in the areas of tax planning and compliance, mergers and acquisition, accounting and audit services for domestic and international businesses.

Farra graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami with a bachelor's degree in business administration, where he also earned his JD at UM's School of Law. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of CPAs, and the American Bar Association, as well as the Florida Bar Association and its Tax Section. Farra is a qualified expert with the United States Tax Court, Miami-Dade County Circuit Court and the Broward County Circuit Court.

Founded in 1993, the President's Council consists of more than 100 members across the nation who serve as corporate and community leaders. Nearly a dozen of these prestigious men and women have gone on to serve as members of the Board of Trustees.
