In 2010, auto dealerships and other businesses in Florida are more aware than ever that their disaster preparedness and recovery plans should focus on hurricanes while also including other potential disasters. The news of major flooding and of tornadoes in several parts of the United States is a reminder of the wide range of natural disasters that can strike—some with warnings and some that occur suddenly.
Dealerships in some other states also must be concerned about earthquakes, such as those that have occurred this year in Haiti, Chile and California.
Amid the news of those natural disasters, some forecasters are predicting that the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season could be one of the most intense in several years.
