Ronald Finkelstein, CPA, is a partner in the accounting and tax services department at Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLP. Ron is also the partner-in-charge of the firm's Broward office and leads the firm's Health Care Services Group.
Ron has extensive experience in real estate, restaurant, wholesale/distribution and other industries. In his work with entrepreneurial businesses, Ron is noted for providing insightful profit enhancement reviews, and he has been instrumental in several merger and acquisition engagements. He has also been called upon to serve as an expert witness for various health care providers in cases involving breach of contract and various other legal disputes.
As partner-in-charge of the Health Care Services Group, Ron is focused on helping physician group practices and other providers reach their financial objectives and identify opportunities for expansion. His personal experience ranges from accounting, auditing, consulting and valuation of medical practices and other healthcare providers, to physician/third party contracting, mergers and acquisitions, and comprehensive physician strategic planning. Ron has been a frequent lecturer both locally and nationally on a wide variety of health care accounting and practice management topics. Clients include ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, anatomic and clinical laboratories, home health providers, hospitals, and physician group practices.
At the AICPA National Healthcare Industry Conference on October 31, 2007, Ron presented to medical group administrators, accountants, and CFO's on an update on Medicare reimbursement, billing and collection best practices, financial reporting and benchmarking, Stark law compliant compensation arrangements, current trends in physician mergers and acquisition and tax planning matters.
Ron was selected the 2005 winner of the South Florida Business Journal Excellence in Accounting Award, Healthcare category and previously a Heavy Hitter in Healthcare. A contributing editor to the quarterly publication "Practice Management Advisor," Ron is a member of the Steering Committee of the AICPA National Healthcare Industry Conference and past president of the National CPA Health Care Advisor's Association. He is also a past chairman of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountant's Health Care Industry Committee. In addition, Ron is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Medical Group Management Association, and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Ron graduated with a bachelor's in accounting from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
